Online gambling in Buenos Aires Province: the rules, IPLyC and how to check a site is legal

Which law governs online gambling in the Province, who oversees it, what the .bet.ar domain means, and how to check in two minutes whether an operator is authorized.

Legal framework

Online gambling in Buenos Aires Province is governed by Law 15,079 of 2019 (Title VIII, “Regulation of Online Gambling”) and its Regulatory Decree 181/19. Under that framework, seven licences were authorized to run online gambling in the Province.

The decree includes one annex regulating online gambling and another setting out how licences are tendered. The Institute has also issued supplementary rules, such as Resolution 795/2020 and Resolution 791, which approves the Online Gambling Technical Regulation and the Basic Games and Betting Regulation. All are published in the regulations section of the official site.

What .bet.ar means

According to IPLyC, every legal betting site ends in “.bet.ar”. It is the first thing to look for in your browser bar. On its own it is not enough: other Argentine jurisdictions also use .bet.ar domains, and one brand may run a separate site for each jurisdiction. For the Province, authorization is confirmed when the exact domain appears on IPLyC's list.

Operators on the list today

As of 6 Oct 2026, IPLyC's official “Authorized operators” list links to these brands and domains. LunargenCasino compares three of them; the table is for information and is not a recommendation.

Why jurisdiction matters

Authorization is provincial. An operator authorized in Buenos Aires Province is not automatically authorized in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires, Córdoba, Mendoza, Santa Fe or other provinces, which have their own rules.

Operators' own terms show this. BetWarrior, for example, publishes different conditions by jurisdiction: its casino bonus for the Province requires wagering 30× the deposit within 10 days, with an ARS 500,000 withdrawal cap, while the general casino offer it publishes for other jurisdictions requires 55× deposit plus bonus within 5 days, with an ARS 1,000,000 cap. It also names a different offering company for each jurisdiction.

How to check an operator in two minutes

  1. Open the official list

Go to loteria.gba.gob.ar/juego-online and find the brand.

  2. Compare the domain letter by letter

The domain of the site you are signing up on must match the one IPLyC links to and end in .bet.ar.

  3. Check the footer and the terms

An authorized operator names its licence holder, publishes terms and conditions, and offers responsible gambling tools.

  4. Be wary of shortcuts

Never send money to people or accounts offering to “top up your balance” over messaging apps or social media. Authorized operators take deposits inside their own platform.

Account and age checks

Gambling is prohibited for anyone under 18. Authorized operators ask for real details and verify identity (BetWarrior, for example, uses a DNI or passport and requires verification before withdrawals). Verification protects your account and is part of regulatory oversight. Never share your password or let someone else use your account.

Responsible gambling

The Province runs a free public network: the Compulsive Gambling Prevention and Assistance Program, with the 0800-444-4000 line and ten treatment centres. Details in our responsible gambling guide.

Check the current terms

Promotions, limits and payment methods change. The terms each operator publishes on its site are what counts; any summary, ours included, can go out of date. Before accepting an offer, read its full conditions and validity dates.
